My wife was quietly reading a book so I told her I married her only for her looks but to find out she's also smart was a huge bonus.

She barely looked up, her eyes and eyebrows just shifted slightly up and she gave me a look. I doubled down and said: "because looks fade. not yours, obviously. but they fade, so it's important to have something more".

She kept looking without saying a word. I said: "It's good that our son is like you, not just handsome but also smart. otherwise he would have trouble". She stopped looking at me and flipped a page.

"Coz nobody likes an ugly kid".
